Well, it has happened again. Not sure how we have become such a popular destination for Superheroes, but we have two new visitors to our downtown area.
And just like last year, they are hanging out on our Landmark Dr. Pepper Neon Sign.
Yup, it is Superman and Batman!
And this time they are promoting their own movie. Now I am not promoting any superhero movie, I just know a photo opportunity when I see one.
Unfortunately, yesterday morning was the only time I have had to get downtown to take a picture. Weekend mornings are best because it is easier to find parking and there are generally less people to deal with. And I say unfortunately because yesterday morning was overcast. Very overcast. But at least it was not raining.
So, I did take a few pictures of these two in their tights and capes high above the city. And they turned out ok. Not the nice blue sky background I had hoped for, but aren’t these kind of movies typically dark and gray anyway? So maybe this was the perfect background. Except if there were ominous clouds behind them that would have been better. Oh well.
But then I played with some overlays and filters in Photoshop and came up with these two neat versions.
This one turned out to be my favorite. Looks kind of like it was shot at night, not at 8:00 am in the morning! And the only thing better would have been to shoot it at night with the neon lights going full throttle.
But I will take what I can. Maybe they will stay up a little longer and I will have another opportunity to take Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne’s photographs again.
