A few weeks ago I shared a picture on my Sunday Bliss of a nest that was being built in the garden on a wreath by our kitchen door. At the time we weren’t really sure what kind of bird was building the nest.
Well, we know now! We have seen it sitting on the nest so I thought I would try to get some pictures. It was not easy. The wreath where the nest is built is under a pergola by our kitchen door and it is shaded all day.
Isn’t that just a sweet little nest? It has lots of moss and little twigs. And it is so tiny. I was standing quite a bit away because I did not want to keep the parents away too long since they are nesting. And it has been so windy, it was hard to keep the camera still.
But patience paid off and soon one of the little Carolina Wrens came up and landed on the corner of the fireplace brick wall. And in a flash, she was in the nest.
It took her no time to get in, get turned around and hunkered down, keeping those tiny eggs warm and cozy. It should be fun to watch the babies in the upcoming weeks. If I get any more pictures I definitely will share.
Hope your Spring is full of nice surprises like our little wren nest!
