Yesterday morning we went out to run errands and came home to find Katie’s collar in the middle of the floor. Since adopting Spencer and Katie, it is not uncommon to find one of them in stealth mode because a collar has come undone during play. They play really hard!
But this collar is Katie’s original collar that has been missing for a month. On Good Friday, Katie came into the room quiet as a mouse sans collar and we began the search. Keith and I both searched for over an hour and a half (do the math that’s three hours of total searching) with flashlights, turning over all the furniture, finding lots of other things but no collar. I went and ran some errands and Keith continued searching the entire time I was gone. He came up empty handed.
So, we went to PetSmart and got another collar and I ordered another ID tag and soon Katie was no longer stealth kitty. And we figured that her brother Spencer must have taken it off and hidden it. He is famous for that. It’s one of the funny things he does.
So, it was a surprise to find it in the middle of the rug yesterday morning when we came home. Only Spencer knows where it has been this entire time. Now it is safely tucked away in one of my drawers. Such is life with cats.
