Last week I shared a quote with one of my Black Buzzard pictures. Well, let me tell you a story about those buzzards.
A couple of years ago we spent a week in West Virginia at a cabin in Bluestone State Park. It just so happened that our cabin was also host to a group of Black Buzzards. They would roost at night in the trees outside the front porch.
Some might think that having a roost of buzzards would not be fun, but we thoroughly enjoyed them. Every morning they would sun themselves in the trees off the front porch. It was such an amazing site to watch. The October mornings would be cool and foggy. And if you have ever been to Bluestone, you know how quiet those mornings can be.
So, imagine a still, quiet, foggy and cool morning with all of these large birds perched high in the leafless trees with their wings spread wide. Scary and ominous all at once yet beautiful and relaxing at the same time. We would watch them in awe. They would stretch and turn as the sun shifted. They really were just fascinating.
I took tons of pictures of them so I could tell their story. They are beautiful creatures of God.
