Hello and Welcome Back! Today is Day 13 of 25 Days of Christmas Wreaths from Colonial Williamsburg‘s 2015 Holiday Season and just like yesterday, I have two wreaths to share with you today.
Today’s wreaths are from Scrivener’s Store on Duke of Gloucester Street in the historic section. They both use a simple base wreath of white pine. The one on the door features wheat, dried safflowers and globe amaranth, both wonderful everlasting flowers and a posy at the top made of what looks like corn husks, apples and cotton. You can also see small lotus seed pods hidden inside sunflower stems with the globe amaranth tucked inside.
This one on a window also uses wheat, globe amaranth tucked into a large lotus seed pod, apples and a posy made with a dried safflower, cotton and corn husk. I like how new flowers are made using other flowers.
I hope you are finding some great ways to decorate you home with the techniques from Colonial Williamsburg! I will share more with you tomorrow so make sure you plan to stop by!
