Since 2014 I have been playing along with Ali Edwards and choosing One Little Word to use as a focus for that year. You can read more about her project here. This project has taken on a life of its own and there is even a course you can take each year, along with an annual reading of the words chosen by fellow scrapbookers and others around the world.
The first year I chose Opportunity. And I had a lot of Opportunities that year.
Next I chose Learn. And I did seem to focus a lot on learning new things, both at work and in my personal life.
Last year I didn’t talk much about my OLW (One Little Word) Simplify. In fact, I think I only mentioned it once, in this post. I didn’t even make a little printable for it, like the previous years. But, I did do a lot of simplifying last year. Maybe that was part of Simplifying, if it was it was not intentional though.
This year I have chosen another word, Be.
When I was thinking about my word for this year, Be kept coming to mind. It is a powerful little word. When I looked up synonyms for Be, I really knew this was a going to be a good word for me this year. There are so many ways to use this word to inspire me in 2017. Above are just a few of my favorite synonyms. There are others: abide, act, breathe, do, inhabit, last, persist, remain, stand, stay, carry on, hang on, have no end, linger, live on, never say die, outlast…
So, there you have it. My 2017 OLW – Be. So much power in such a tiny word. Happy 2017!
