According to the calendar, Spring officially arrives next week. But it’s been present in our yard for several weeks. The snow drops are always the first to bloom, then the Lenten Roses and the big, bright yellow daffodils out front. Now, the frilly daffodils and the hyacinths are in full swing along with the jasmine and forsythia.
I love getting out in the yard and taking pictures this time of year. The sunshine is bright and on days like this week, it is actually pretty warm, too. On Wednesday of this week I was out in the yard in shorts when I captured these beauties. I am sure the neighbors think I am nuts, laying on the ground, snapping hundreds of shots of just one group of flowers.
This week I also found a great blog where I found the frame that I used on the above picture. The frame is free from The Coffee Shop Blog and there are others available on there as well. Not only are there freebies, but it looks like there are great tutorials on Photoshop and Lightroom. Who doesn’t love that? I haven’t had time to check it all out, but I look forward to perusing on some of my sleepless nights.
For now, I am going to just enjoy the early arrival of Spring in my yard!
