Yesterday we had some excitement at our house. I mean really had some excitement! At least for me anyway.
I came into our bedroom and saw Katiebelle watching something under Keith’s dresser. I asked her what she was watching – you know, everyone talks to their kitty kids expecting them to answer. Keith told me to look and see what it was so I got down on my hands and knees and moved back a pair of his tennis shoes and instantly saw a coiled up snake.
Well, Spencer and Katiebelle have a play rubber snake so naturally I thought Keith was playing a trick on me. BUT, it was only for an instant because that’s when the snake thrust its head towards me. I SCREAMED bloody murder and I think that’s the quickest I have been able to get up from all fours and run into another room in a long time.
So for the next five minutes or so Katiebelle and Spencer helped Keith capture the snake and remove it from OUR BEDROOM! AUGHHHHH! Last Fall we had a problem with a few baby black snakes in our basement. They were coming in to hibernate for the winter and we THOUGHT we got rid of all of them since we didn’t see them anymore. Then this Spring, while I was exercising one night Spencer and Katiebelle happened to find one of the babies that we missed – it managed to hibernate in our basement all winter. Keith removed it and we THOUGHT we were done.
Until TODAY! This four foot long reptile was in OUR BEDROOM! And fearless little Katiebelle was all ready to take it on. Well, Keith will be calling an exterminator this week. This has to stop. I like my snakes in the garden, not MY HOUSE!
Of course it’s just all in a day’s work for Katiebelle! You can see more of the release in the garden on my IGTV!
