Yesterday I shared one of the beautiful spider webs from our garden with you and promised that I would share more, so that’s what I am doing today. This post will showcase the artistry and beauty of dew covered spiderwebs so if this is not your thing, I am giving fair warning and you won’t hurt my feelings if you move right along.
Just by looking at this web I can easily understand the quote “What a tangled web we weave” by Sir Walter Scott. There were several webs like this with a round, orb like web and a hot mess of tangled silk behind it illuminated by the morning dew.
I always love a good round spider web – in the garden, viewed from a distance that is. This little artist made use of a pentagonal shape to create its web.
Here was one of the resident artists.
It had a really nice big web.
Here was another of the tangled up messy webs. If you look closely at the bottom of the web you can see what resembles a fine netting, almost like tulle.
Here’s a pretty web of mystery for you! Evidently the tangled, messy webs are called tangled webs. Or even cobwebs. I found so many of the cobwebs and orb webs side by side.
The morning dew really made them stand out, even on a really foggy morning.
They looked like strings of dewy diamonds.
Amazing!
Little criss-crosses everywhere to create a work of art.
There were very few of the spiders out. I love to see them weaving their web and I really could not believe there were so many in our yard. They were not noticeable until that morning when they were covered in dew.
This one kind of reminded me of the Milky Way with all the little stars of dew drops.
And what about this little webmaster? This web was not very large, maybe about 5 or 6 inches tall yet so detailed.
Pretty cool, huh?
This web is called a dome web. It’s one of those that has that fine looking netting.
What a mess!
Look at all of that spun silk!
Here the dew looks like strings of bright lights.
So pretty!
They almost have a neon glow!
As I was finishing up, I was able to meet the artist of one of the cobweb like tangled webs. I was very glad that I didn’t hurry to visit Yard Sales Saturday morning and that I paused to capture these images. Nature is so amazing and when we rush, rush, rush, we miss the artistry of God’s world. I hope you enjoyed my little garden artists today. Happy Monday!
