We had a blast at the parade yesterday! We even made it to the local news station’s site with our picture! Here I am with Caroline, my friend Junie and Ella. Caroline and Ella are Junie’s nieces.
The weather was sunny and warm and perfect for a couple of hours of parade and people watching. Caroline and Ella watched the entire parade and enjoyed the many different entries. There were bands, bagpipes, dogs, horses, mascots, roller derby chicks, lots of leprechauns and of course Elmo, Caroline’s favorite.
I was able to take a few pics, which I will be posting on our website later today. We really did have a great time. I was amazed at how well the girls enjoyed themselves. They never really got bored or tired, which was amazing, since the parade lasted over and hour and a half.
The sign was for Junie’s neighbor Christopher. He was marching in his school’s band and Denise (Caroline and Ella’s mother) made it so we could be sure he saw us. Of course, he not only saw us, but he heard us yelling at him and cheering him on and did his best not to smile at us or break his concentration.
Later, Junie, her cousin Betsy, our friend Lynn and I babysat the girls and their little sister Morgan so that Mike and Denise could go out for the evening. It takes all four of us to watch those three little girls. Betsy says it takes a village and she is right. I don’t know how Mike and Denise do it and do it so well. Twin girls, not yet two and a half and Morgan, not yet six months. Mike and Denise are amazing and so are the girls.
What a great day yesterday!
