You know that I have been wanting snow this winter. Well, Thursday afternoon I got my wish with a super heavy wet mess of snow.
We got about 4-5 inches at our house and Friday morning before work I ran out and snapped a few pictures in the garden. I hated that I could not stay home to enjoy – it was really beautiful.
Everything looks so magical in the snow. This little guy sits out in our front garden at the border of the barberry bushes. The wind knocked a lot of the snow off the top of the looking glass. Thursday night it looked like it was wearing a hat.
I really love when the sun hits the snow on the trees and it glistens with a golden glow. The sun was just starting to hit the trees before I had to leave for work. I had to drive to a meeting about an hour away on Friday and would have really been upset if I had not had the opportunity to capture the snow.
I really do love snow. Not sure if I would love it as much if I had it all the time, but it really isn’t winter without it. I love the quiet that it brings, how it makes everything look pure and clean and how it brings out the kid in us all. We all want to build snowmen, have snowball fights or just take a day off to enjoy. We still have snow on the ground today, although the sun is melting it away. At least it lasted for several days and if we don’t get anymore this season, at least I got my snow fix.

I keep hoping that we will get a little snow, too, but it only happens once every 8-10 years or so here at the coast! I’m glad you got some snow, finally!! Love, Mom PS. Maybe next time it will be on a weekend! :-}
