In case you haven’t noticed, I kind of like to photograph flowers in my garden. And, I kind of like to photograph tulips in my garden. My neighbors think I am nuts, I am sure, especially when I am lying on the ground taking pictures of flowers for what seems like an eternity.
My tulips this year are almost all done. It was a short season due to the warm weather. But, I think I was able to capture the majority of them reasonably well. This one is a new one that we planted last fall. It is the faintest shade of pink, I call it blush.
Unfortunatley, I am not one for remembering all of the specific names of my tulips, or for that matter, any of my plantings. I am lucky just to remember the type of plant it is. This tulip came in a pack of pink beauties that supported Breast Cancer Awareness, thus the purchase and planting last October. My mom had just finished going through her radiation treatments in September, so anything related to BCA was high on the radar at that time. BTW, my mom is doing well and should be cancer free. =)
We have many BC survivors in our family: Keith’s sister Janice, Keith’s cousin Betty, my stepfather’s mother, Helen and now my Mom, Suzanne. Anyway, these will be a reminder of good news and that BC will always be a part of our lives.
