I wish I could share the wonderful aroma with you. I wish you could smell the heaven outside my kitchen door.
We planted this vine when we moved in our house 15 years ago. We never thought we would enjoy it so much. It is something we look forward to every spring.
The fragrance from the blooms arrives just as we are able to open up the house and it permeates our living area. Such a sweet and wonderful smell.
And in the summer, the vine provides shade and nesting areas. We have robins that like to build in the wisteria vine every year.
And in the fall and winter, the seed pods and vines provide great interest in the garden. The pods start out long and green, with a soft velvet coating and then turn brown before twisting open to release their round seeds. The twisted vines provide texture when the snow clings in the winter.
For now, you will just have to take my word for it. The smell is amazing and so are the blooms. Enjoy!
