Last week I introduced you to George, our resident groundhog. And I told you how he likes to hang out around our deck. Well, Keith told me he caught him lounging on the deck this week and that he appeared to be completely at ease using our deck for his own deck.
Today Keith called me to look out the window because George was at it again. It was a little hard to see him from inside where I was looking out the window. Here you can just see a hairy blob on the deck corner. These pictures were taken from inside through a window, so I apologize for the quality.
I thought I would go outside and try to get his picture from the kitchen deck, but he heard me and scurried under the deck. So, I went back inside to the sitting room and caught him peeking out from under the deck.
After a few minutes he came back out to the deck. Here you can see him taking position on his corner again.
Now he’s getting comfy. He is streching all out, just look at that little tail.
George is now comfortable. He stays like this for quite some time.
Until he turns around. Look at those claws on the front. Man, I would not want to make him mad.
Here he is just chillin. This is what Keith said he caught him doing this week while I was at work. Just laying on the deck, all sprawled out, occaisionally switching sides.
Eventually it was time to move on and down he came.
As he shook off his fur on the steps, I could see those big claws again. Yikes, they would hurt.
He then had to scratch and take care of a little grooming before heading over to our neighbor’s yard to find something to munch on. So, this is the life of George. He really likes lounging on our deck, taking it easy on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
