In case you don’t know already, I sell my photographs on a site called Fine Art America, or FAA for short. It is not something where I make a living, but it allows me to fund my photography habit (in a small way, at least) and share my pictures with others.
And in the past on this blog I have shared my excitement with you when I have sold a print. It’s been a while since I have shared and now is the perfect time to share again.
You see, yesterday I sold seven (yup that is 7) prints to a collector in my hometown. And the images were all of my hometown. Can you scream Excited?!?
I know I sure can! I have never sold so many prints in a single day, and the fact that they are of my hometown is all the more reason to celebrate.
I live in a city in southwest Virginia called Roanoke, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The city is surrounded by these beautiful mountains and is a wonderful place to live. These images showcase some of the wonderful landmarks, from the old to the new.
Our little city has a lot of history and charm. And it supports a wonderful art community, vibrant farmers market and living downtown center. It also provides easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Trail for those wanting a quick escape from city life.
It makes me curious to know what will happen with these prints. Will they be displayed in someone’s home? Are they for an office or restaurant? Who knows if I will ever find out?
So now you have seen a glimpse of some of my hometown, through the purchases of a local collector. Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you today!
