I found a cool new website the other day called My Favorite Find. My Favorite Find is “a virtual show and tell” of favorite finds in the collectible world. The site was created by Serena from the Farm Chicks and is just starting out. I like that you can post your favorite finds, shoppes and events on this site. For those of us with the collectible “bug” this looks like a great way to find new places to look for treasures and see what others are finding around the country.
As you can see above, I have started posting some of my recent vintage jewelry finds that I have incorporated into my jewelry that I sell in my shop on Etsy. Above on the top left is one of my favorite Ebay finds, a vintage topaz rhinestone and brass filigree brooch. It made a beautiful OOAK necklace.
Here is another Ebay find that turned into a lovely piece of jewelry. This brass scrollwork brooch had ruby-red rhinestone accents and is paired with a double strand of garnets. This is another favorite necklace.
When I found MFF, I found someone else that was finding beads to make unique jewelry designs. I have also seen lots of neat items for garden decor, cool furniture scores, dishes, and lots of items that have been found and repurposed into something new.
I cannot wait for this to catch on. I am anxious to see shoppes and events close to me so that maybe I can make a trip somewhere different and make new discoveries. Currently there aren’t any listings close by, but again, this is something new and it will take time.
If you visit and join, make sure you follow me so we can see what new treasures we find in our journeys!~
