Recently we had a new deck put on right off our carport and kitchen porch. Granted the kitchen porch was really a little concrete slab with an awning over it and not much to write home about, as the saying goes. Well, part of the deck addition involved getting rid of the awning and adding a bigger roof to cover the porch and provide complete coverage from the carport to the kitchen door. Simple enough and it was easily added.
But what made it special was what Keith added for everyone to see as they walk out the kitchen door. These are each of our very first license plates. They have been hanging downstairs for years but now they are visible for all and a constant reminder of where we came from and where we are now. I love how he thought to hang them here.
Buc was his nickname in school. Funny, but I never call him that. He is Keith to me. The number 35 was his number when he played ball. My plate was short for what’s up or what’s happening in Spanish. I love these simple reminders of when we met over 28 years ago and I love him for putting them out for all to see.
