It’s that time of year again. Time to start hitting the yardsales on Saturday mornings and looking for things I just cannot live without. Or things that we are looking for to repurpose around the house, such as old mailboxes.
Many years ago I saw these adorable creations at a garden show. Going through old pictures I came across them again and remembered how cool they were and how I wanted to make some right away. Glad I took pictures and saved them. That helps when you get older and your memory starts to fade. 🙂
Well, I guess I will add old mailboxes to my list of things I want to find at yardsales.
I can think of lots of places for these in the yard. And I even have vinca that I could add to them. Or maybe succulents would be neat. The choices are many. But first, I have to find them. And I have to get up to get to the yardsales in time.
Keith and I have already hit a few this year. He found an old set of golf clubs and was pretty excited about that. I don’t think I have found anything yet to speak of, but you never know what will turn up, from old cookbooks, furniture, dvd’s, cd’s, plants (found some great hostas one time) old silverware (we use for making windchimes) dishes, just lots of neat stuff. It’s an enjoyable way to spend a nice morning.
So, need to get up early tomorrow and hit the sales and see if I can find an old mailbox and make a planter!
