Last week while we were in South Carolina at the beach Keith found this really cool mushroom or fungus (I could not tell you what it is other than something cool to take pictures of) at the entrance to the neighborhood where we were staying.

I have never been a fan of eating mushrooms but when it comes to taking photos of them, that is something I will definitely take time to do. And I was so happy Keith spotted this monster shroom on the side of the road in a wooded area. The pictures by no means tell you how large this thing actually was. It’s diameter was about the size of a good sized dinner plate. I should have stuck something by it to show it’s size but I really did not want to get that close. In South Carolina they have fire ants and there were a few ant hills close by so I was not going to take any chances.

Look at the delicate frilly texture. Amazing. Like I said, I am not a fan of eating but boy, they are really worth the time of pausing to capture a picture when I can find them.
