So many times Keith and I have had talks about “things” other people have and wonder how they can afford them. And we have conversations about people we know that seem to have it all yet they are very unhappy or always complaining or always have “drama” going on in their lives. Then we talk about how good we feel knowing that we don’t have to worry about paying off credit card bills and are grateful we don’t have the drama to deal with in our lives. We know that we have way more than we will ever need and are grateful for what we have accomplished in our lives. We realize that there are more important things than having the latest and greatest everything. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to have new things and I could probably very easily wipe out a savings account if I wanted to, but I don’t think it would make me any happier than I already am right now. Real treasures are feelings of joy and happiness, laughter between family and friends, a smile on a stranger’s face when you are having a rough day, the purr of a cat as she sleeps on your lap, the wag of a dog’s tail because he’s happy to see you….Real treasures cannot be bought with money. I am grateful to experience all of these wonderful feelings every day in my life.
