I love the sky. I especially love beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The way our lot is situated and the fact that we are surrounded by huge pin oaks and silver maples means that the best time for me to view sunrises and sunsets at home is in the winter, when the leaves are off the trees. And let me tell you, we get some really pretty ones in the winter. Here a four recent sunrises from my backyard that I thought I would share with you.
This one is from December 30, 2013.
This one is from January 21, 2014. These are all taken from my guest bedroom window, looking out towards my backyard.
Here is the next day, January 22, 2014. We had also gotten a little snow that morning, you can see it on the roofline of the condos in the bottom part of the image.
And this one is from January 31, 2014. I love how the bare trees are silhouetted against the sky. And you can see my magnolia in the left on some of the photos, full of year round greenery.
Of course, not every morning is spectacular, sometimes it is raining or too overcast or just normal…if you can call a sunrise normal. I do love when they are spectacular and full of pinks and purples and I always try to capture them on film since I cannot always see them so clearly when the leaves come out. I still have a few more months before that happens, so hopefully I will be able to capture a few more this year! Here’s to Winter Sunrises!
