This past weekend was overcast and cold and we even had snow showers on Saturday. So, since we were stuck inside again, Keith and I decided to get out the beads and work on some projects. He updated a wind chime and I made some jewelry. Usually when I finish I like to take the pieces outside and snap a few pictures in case I eventually upload them to my Etsy shop. But Mother Nature would not cooperate so I had to take them inside, which I dread, because I still don’t like how they turn out.
Keith finished his wind chime quickly and was helpful in getting things set up to take pictures. But he was bored that he could not go outside and was looking for something fun to do, so he decided to photo-bomb my shoot! But I did put together three necklace and earring sets. Here is the first one, made with Picasso Jasper and Swarovski Crystals. It features a brass chain and lobster claw clasp and is light with a delicate flair.
Here is the back. It is adjustable so it can be worn at different lengths and has a dangle on the back.
Here are the matching pierced earrings with brass earwires.
This necklace also features Picasso Jasper. It is more of a statement piece and features the larger of the set of Picasso Jasper stones with twisted brass spacer beads in between each large stone. I love the colors of this type of Jasper. They remind me of Fall.
And here is the back of this one. It features a simple brass toggle clasp. It is heavier than the first necklace and really is stunning on.
Matching earrings are available for this one, too. Brass earwires.
Now this was the fun one that I made this past weekend, not that all of them were not fun to make, just that this one is girlie and blingy and fun because I took a set of matching vintage costume jewelry and recycled them into something new. Keith found the brooch and clip on earrings for me a few weeks ago and we took off the backs so that I could transform them. For the brooch, I added faceted round Czech glass crystals, brass spacers and Swarovski crystals in colors to compliment the ruby red, topaz and peridot rhinestones.
The back has a simple lobster claw closure and a crystal dangle.
The earrings were simple! I just added a little string of crystals and brass earwires. There was a place to attach the string of crystals to the vintage earring so that they have extra movement to aid in their bling factor. Definitely fun to wear.
It was fun to create with beads this weekend! And I haven’t decided yet if these will be for sale or not. I need a little time to wear them and think about it!
