It is late March, right? In Virginia, right? Well, let me show you what happened when they forecast snow showers and 42 degrees yesterday.
We got snow.
Three to four inches.
A wet, heavy, pretty snow that didn’t stick to the roads, thank goodness!
I had the day off because I had a dentist appointment and some important errands to take care of so I was able to take some pictures while it was going on.
Isn’t it just really pretty?
And just yesterday I was showing you wonderful pictures of the bulbs and flowers blooming from this past weekend. We even had snow under the pergola by the new deck.
And all over Keith’s Cross in the back by the Camellias.
And here’s SpongeBob, smiling and waving in the snow.
I love the birdhouses in the snow.
They are so pretty.
And if you cannot tell, I just love taking pictures of Keith’s cross and the gate in snow. I must have a couple hundred of this view from all of our different snow events.
Lovely.
But let me tell you, the snow did not stop the birds today. This little Carolina Wren was singing his heart out in the dogwood tree. See all the flower buds? They should be opening soon. Remember, it is Spring!

And the feeder on the deck was full of red and gold finches. There are six feeding stations and you can see from here, every slot is full. And there were Cardinals waiting on the deck below.
But my favorites are always the bluebirds.
Like this little fella waiting on the tree branch for the suet feeder to be filled.
We keep three suet feeders filled for our birds which they devour. And if we filled more they would devour them, too!
I am so glad I was here today to enjoy the snow with Keith and the girls. Pixie and Dixie did enjoy it, because Keith built a fire and they enjoyed the warmth for what will probably (hopefully) be the last time this season. We really are ready for Spring here in Virginia!
