Ask any gardener and they will tell you gladly about their gardens, including the memories associated with certain plants and flowers. It is simply a part of the process of gardening. We grow what we love and love what we grow.
Many times, what we grow is shared with others and others share with us. That is another aspect of gardening which allows us not only to share plants and flowers, but memories associated with those treasured plantings that we move from one garden to another.
This is a bloom on a cactus that was given to us by Keith’s Uncle Paul, from his garden in Pittsburgh. It is simply beautiful this year and every time I walk by it, I am reminded of him and his beautiful garden. Uncle Paul was legally blind, but you would never know it by looking at his garden. He had a showstopping place that we loved to visit.
I am so happy that Uncle Paul shared this cactus with us….brings back good memories.

A very touching memory garden for you and Keith! When you come in the Fall, maybe we can share some of our hydrangea with you (the one you gave me for Mother’s Day so many years ago! It is truly a specimen and will give you many years of pleasure and good memories, too! Love, Mom
