If you do not have cats, I am not sure you can understand the challenges of decorating when you do own them. Or should I say, rearranging furniture, or making the bed, the list could go on. Their curiosity draws them in to whatever task you are trying to complete, and usually, they think you are trying to play a game and have to jump right in the middle of things.
Saturday while out yardsaling, I found a nice, gently used wing chair that I thought would be perfect for our sitting room. We have several old chairs in there and one of them was starting to sag, so that when you sat down, you kind of sank down quite a bit. We addded a board, but that did not help.
So, when it came time to rearrange the furniture, we moved the old chair out into the dining room and stripped off the slip cover to see if it would fit on the new chair. It did not, so I hastily balled it up and layed it back on the old chair.
Of course, everyone had to come give their sniff of approval on the new chair, but immediately, Dixie and Stormie took turns sleeping on the old chair, as if to say that they did not want us to get rid of it. And then, we caught them both sleeping on it together, as if providing a united front.
Regardless of what they think, the old chair is destined for a future yard sale. The new chair is much more comfortable and actually is a much better fit. Now, the challenge is to keep them from immediately tearing it up before I can find a slipcover that fits it well.
Here, you can see Pixie already approves, after she climbed up the back of the chair to seat herself here on top. Stormie has already claimed the chair as a napping spot and Dixie and put her scent of approval on as well.
I am so glad that they approve!
