Last Christmas on our trip to Williamsburg we bought a Bird Bottle to place on our house so that hopefully we would have nesters. We put it up early this spring and even found another one locally so that we had a matching set, one on each end of the house.

Well, a few weeks ago we thought we had some Carolina Wrens building a nest and sure enough, they have babies! Here you can see one of the parents resting on the twig outside before going in to feed the bunch.

These pictures are a little grainy. I took them from a distance so that I could watch them as they continuously went from the suet feeder (which is conveniently located about 10 feet away) to the nest.

And the Bird Bottle is under the eaves, under our pin oaks in a lot of shade.

I had to use the sports mode to get these shots because the wrens move so fast themselves. And they are very busy right now.

Here you can see the parent inside, I could hear the babies, but could not see them. The way these bottles are designed, the babies are evidently way back in the bottle.

We have a suet cake feeder that holds two cakes. And we are going through the cakes at record speed. This explains why. Hungry Bottle Babies!

And not only are they feeding their babies, they have to eat too!

We really love watching our little wrens.
