While we were dealing with our recent cable and internet outage due to the derecho, I was finally able to take some time and create some new jewelry pieces for my shop on Etsy.
Several weeks ago I found this costume jewelry triple leaf pendant at a yard sale. The lady that I purchased it from had lots and lots of jewelry for sale and all of it was in great shape. I don’t think this is an old piece, but it is nicely made and I immediately knew that I could repurpose this into a pendant for a necklace.
When I started working on another piece of jewelry this weekend, I found in my stash these wonderful fire polished Czech glass beads and immediately thought of this brooch. I like how they compliment the leaves and had enough beads to make a matching bracelet and earrings.
I also made a statement necklace and matching earrings set out of another vintage brooch that Keith found for me on eBay. Linked to Vintage Inspiration Link Party!
This has become an instant favorite of mine. And it is all thanks to Keith since he was the one that figured out what to make the necklace out of. I was trying to find crystals to match or compliment the brooch and could not when he came across the blue sea sediment jasper and then I added the jet black crystals and found some spacers that blended in with the work on the brooch.
I always test out my designs by wearing them to make sure that they are comfortable and secure and when I wore this to work I immediately received compliments on the set, including the earrings. I had thought this set might be something more for formal wear, but found out that it can go for the work day image as well.
I am going to be putting a few more new items in my shop on Etsy in the coming days. I had a lot of fun bringing new life to these brooches and creating matching pieces to go with them.
