Last year and this year I shared a few posts about our visits to Colonial Williamsburg and how much fun we had.

We especially enjoyed visiting at Christmas with all the wonderful holiday decor.

We loved it so much we went back again this year.

We love how every time we go we learn something new and see new things.
It was really cold this year but we didn’t mind.
They have this great deal where you buy a mug and you can get free refills for you entire visit, so we got more than our money’s worth of hot chocolate, coffee and hot cider.
And did I tell you how much we love the decorations?
They are perfect for taking pictures.
Like this one I shared on Christmas.
And this one of my friend June and me.
Here Keith is taking a picture of a Cresset to show his brother. That was a favorite from last year. They put wood in them and burn them at night. It’s magical.

But one of our favorite things from last year was the Auction. They have these on Saturdays and they auction off items from the local shops at great prices as well as one of a kind finds or items made by the local craftsmen. And if you look carefully in the center of the picture above you will see a Cresset. Just what Keith has been looking for.

The Auctioneer and his crew are highly entertaining.

And let me tell you, it was COLD that day. I don’t know how they kept warm.
We sat through the entire auction, it had to have been for several hours. June had a great time and won several auctions for the coveted Williamsburg creamware that so many people collect and some adorable kitchen utensils for her nieces along with a few other items.

And Keith won his Cresset. He was so happy! He’s been wanting one ever since he saw them in use last year. We really had a great time at the Auction. If you ever are in Williamsburg on a Saturday afternoon, I highly recommend it. Below is a clip of one of the items they auctioned that day. Such a fun experience.
Hazzah!
