I am not a fan of creepy crawly bugs and things with too many legs to count in general. But, I do like insects that are beneficial and usually will not want them killed if they happen to find their way inside our house. And I love to have them in the garden.
At the Hammock Shops in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina they have these cool spiders called Golden Silk Orbweavers. We do not have any here where we live in Virginia and I always thought they were so cool to see when we go shopping there.
This year I was able to get a picture of a female in her web. She is huge. And from what I have read online, they are not seriously poisonous and are great at curbing mosquitos. Well, that’s two checks in my book. And, they look really cool. Until I took the photo, I never had been close enough to see the furry little patches on her legs. Another cool thing is that they are known for their webs. And I can attest to that, their webs are really cool to see in person.
Again, not a fan of spiders and bugs in general, but I do know that they have their place in the world and are a thing of beauty, created by God.
