This weekend we spent some time with friends that live on a small farm. While we were there we explored their property. It was a beautiful day for exploring.

Their son is raising cows on the property. Doesn’t she have a sweet face? They thought we were going to feed them. They were disappointed that they would have to wait.

This momma was super sweet and that’s her calf.

Their dogs came with us because they new they could go for a swim in the pond.

There were several Canadian Geese on the pond. They chose to swim to the other side.

They didn’t really pay any attention to us after that, they just did their own thing. They were relaxing to watch.

The pond was good sized. But there was a break in the fence and some of the cows had been coming down to wade in and had made a mess of the bank.

And while we were these, one of the rogue cows waded right on in.

We spent some time enjoying the pond, watching the dogs play, the geese swim and then we headed back up to the house, which is behind the barns by the trees in back.

The barns are old and full of character.

This one is really huge inside, three stories!

The smaller barn is adorned with a mantel and birdhouses.

I really like how the mantel turned out. What a great way to decorate an old barn! And what a great day to explore our friend’s farm.
