For the last several years we have gone to Colonial Williamsburg during the Christmas season to view the decorations and enjoy the holiday activities, such as the Grand Illumination. But we also spend time shopping and antiquing, which are always fun in Williamsburg, too. Last year I shared some pretty decorations made from Vintage Treasures that we found at a booth in an antique mall and this year I found more that I want to share with you today.
Now I know this may be kind of late in the season to share with you. It seems most other bloggers start sharing Christmas ideas in September or October, but I am just not that organized nor did I want to save these for next year so I could follow the rest of the crowd. I think these are cute and that they would be easy to make yourself with vintage or new treasures that you have in your stash. And of course if you are in Williamsburg, you may want to head to the antique mall and pay this vendor a visit! Their items really are adorable!
Now these little items may be new, but they give off a wonderful vintage vibe. I love any vignette under a cloche and this little snowman is really a cutie.
This tiny cloche houses a Bottle Brush tree and a glittered Putz House on an old china saucer.
This little forest of Bottle Brush trees and a woodland Putz House make a nice display on a holiday gift box.
This little silver plate serving piece makes a great pot for a Bottle Brush tree. I really love this!
I love this Christmas Tree strapped to the old Station Wagon!
Here is another pretty vignette in a Cloche.
Now this is a really clever way to use an old silver plate tray and vintage brooches and costume jewelry. I think I will need to find some of these at yard sales next Spring.
I loved this tree ornament. It’s made from an old crystal salt or pepper shaker and an doll head. How clever!
And this one is made from a little perfume bottle, a doll head and some vintage bling!
This is another favorite! An ornament made from an old spoon. Lots of glitter and an old piece of rhinestone costume jewelry. Yes please!
I bet these really sparkle next to lights on the tree. Such a clever idea!
There were lots of other Cloche decorations – like this Santa and snowball Cloche.
Or this bunny – I bet this might even work for Easter!
And a sweet little glittered angel in a Cloche on a saucer attached to a candlestick. Great way to repurpose several old pieces.
There were even Mason Jar vignettes, like this Santa.
How about this package, shovel and mailbox? What a cute snowy scene.
And how cute is this little snowman with his birdhouse? These are very cute and look like they would be so much fun to create. And check out the glittered top!
Of course, Mason Jars are perfect for holding glass ornaments and these are so colorful.
And here is a cute little tree with a button garland surrounded by glittered bottles turned into candle holders. Glitter can transform so many ordinary things into something so pretty and fun.
Even tea cups can be transformed with a festive tree. I hope you got some great ideas today of ways to repurpose old things into fun and festive, glitzy and glamorous Christmas décor.
