If you have been following along here for a while, you know that when I go to the beach I collect tons of shells. And I like to use them to create fun décor for my bathroom, like the Super Easy Seashell Art and the Super Easy Seashell Vases that I have shared here on the blog. Well, I still have tons of shells, some perfect and many not so perfect. And, after my hospital stay I had a couple of nice glass vases that I didn’t just want to throw away, so I thought why not take some of those seashells lying around and recycle one of those vases to add some fun décor to my bathroom?
I have two of these square glass vases, one is pink and this one is clear. I thought this would be a great vase for displaying shells since it is rather small.
I also decided this would also be a good vase for using some of my better broken shells. You know what I am talking about, the ones that are not whole yet still have beautiful features, worthy of some kind of display.
Now these shells had already been cleaned (I soak them in water with a little bleach to get rid of any smelly stuff that might be lingering) and sorted. There is a mixture of all kinds of parts here. I carefully placed them in the vase so that the prettiest parts were visible on the sides and I used the chunkier broken parts to fill the middle. I also placed a few pretty parts on top in case anyone looks there.
I love how the parts look inside the vase.
Each side turned out a little different so just rotating it every so often will give it a new look.
This would also work in a round glass vase or even a Mason Jar.
I even added a piece of Sand Dollar.
I like how it turned out. And, it did not cost me a thing. The Seashells were free and the Vase was recycled. I used what I had to make a cute little piece of décor for my bathroom.
