The Victorians believed that every flower represented an emotion or trait. They would use flowers or arrangements to send coded messages, often using them to say things to the recipient that they may not be able to say in person.
Begonia, as depicted on this vintage trade card told the recipient to beware of a fanciful nature. I have never tried begonias in the garden…I may have to incorportate these next year into some of my pots, they sound like fun!
